Tiger River
As you make your way down Tiger River, your first thought will be, "Amazing." Winding down a foggy, misty path, you'll find the banks of Tiger River are teeming with exotic wildlife. With 10 animal enclosures housing more than 100 animals along with 5,000 exotic plants, you'll get a real sense of the richness that an Asian rain forest holds.
The tigers, of course, are the stars, and these majestic big cats inhabit a grassy hillside, complete with waterfalls, pools, rocks, and logs for climbing. You'll need sharp eyesight, as the tigers are so at home that it may take some searching to spot them amid the natural setting!
Knoxville Zoo

Knoxville Zoo currently has 1 male siberian tiger, names Kiev. He weighs close to 380 pounds and is our largest cat. Kiev is very vocal, even making "puff" sounds as a greeting to keepers. Kiev also "marks" his enclosure often by rubbing his face along the fencing to scent it.
Knoxville Zoo currently has 2 "generic" tigers (hybrids between different subspecies). Ravi (female), and Sita (female). Ravi's white color is caused by a natural genetic mutation. After this recessive gene mutation was discovered in the wild, white tigers were bred to continue the white coloration. This is not a desirable trait in tigers--it causes vision problems, and the skin is vulnerable to sun burns due to the light coloration.
Sita (female), our secind "generic" tiger, is on exhibit at the Tiger Overlook. She has darker, more definite markings. Notice her obviously smaller structure compared to Kiev
